Projects
uMini
uMini is a minimalist live ISO image built from scratch using official Ubuntu repositories.
It provides a script that assembles a bootable ISO image compatible with both BIOS and UEFI, with a text-based autologin session and basic network utilities preinstalled.
uStandard
uStandard builds on the uMini base, offering a customizable Ubuntu-based Live ISO with X11, drivers, multimedia codecs, Wi-Fi, auto-login, and the flexibility to install any desktop environment such as GNOME, KDE, XFCE, and more.
Features
Linux Mative is a fully functional Ubuntu-based LiveCD designed to include only the core components needed to boot and run a Linux system. It provides a clean and minimal foundation for building custom distributions, rescue tools, or development environments.
Unlike standard Ubuntu ISOs that include a full desktop and a set of predefined applications, Linux Mative is minimal by default — letting you decide what to install and how your system should behave.
What makes Linux Mative unique?
- 🧩 No metapackages: All packages are installed individually without relying on Ubuntu's metapackages like
ubuntu-desktop
orubuntu-standard
. - ⚙️ Lightweight alternatives: Heavy components are replaced with lightweight equivalents to ensure faster performance and reduced memory usage.
- 🔧 Modular by design: Thanks to the absence of metapackages, the system remains fully modular and easy to customize, extend, or minimize — perfect for advanced users and developers.
With Linux Mative, you can:
- 💻 Boot into a fast, minimal live environment with networking and essential drivers.
- 🛠 Remaster the ISO using tools like Cubic, Ubuntu Customization Kit, or Reconstructor.
- 📦 Build your own lightweight Ubuntu-based distribution with custom software and configurations.
- 🧪 Use it as a base for testing, system recovery, education, or embedded projects.
🚀 Two Ways to Use Linux Mative
You can choose how to get started — depending on your level of experience and goals:
- Option 1: Build it yourself using the official scripts available on GitHub. Ideal if you want full control and understand every step of the process.
- Option 2: Use a prebuilt ISO generated with the same scripts. This is the fastest way to get started with a minimal live system ready to customize.
Ready-to-use ISOs and source code are available for:
- uMini – minimal terminal-only system with auto-login and networking
- uStandard – terminal-only system version with drivers, multimedia codecs, and desktop-ready base
- uSuite – (coming soon) advanced toolkit for Linux customization and deployment
